Run More One
A dungeon crawler for people who run

Run real miles.
Earn turns.

A turn-based roguelike for iPhone. The distance you run this week is how far you get in this week's dungeon. Everyone gets the same dungeon. On Monday it seals.

Run More One on an iPhone: the hero stands in a grey stone dungeon room on Floor 1 next to a blue slime, a golden key, a coin and a chasm in the floor. The status bar reads 5.0 km left.

How it works

Nothing to log and nothing to track. The game reads what your run already left in Health and turns it into moves.

1 · Run

Your distance is the budget

Run as you already do. Run More One reads your running workouts and walking-and-running distance from Apple Health. Every 10 metres is one turn. A 5 km run is 500 of them.

The home screen. A card shows the hero's portrait, the week's dungeon name, Vestry of Crooked Throats, 5.0 km left in large yellow digits, a ring reading floor 0 of 6, and a yellow Enter button for week 37. Below it, a row of week tiles and a history list.

One dungeon a week, for everyone

Each calendar week has its own dungeon and every player gets the same one. It downloads once and then plays offline. Where you left off is where you pick up after your next run.

Entering the dungeon. The title Vestry of Crooked Throats, Floor 1, is drawn in pixel lettering over a small stone room with the hero standing just inside the entrance.

Every action spends a turn

A step, a strike, a wait, reaching into your pack: one turn each. Kiting a monster or doubling back costs metres you actually ran. When the turns are gone, the week is done with you until you run again. Run further, go deeper.

Combat on Floor 1. The hero strikes a blue slime; a red 2 floats over the hero and a grey 4 over the slime as damage numbers. The health bar at the top has dropped slightly.

The Undertow

The Undertow comes up under the city for one week and takes it back on Monday. It is full of people who did not leave. It stays open around whoever keeps moving.

Each week's dungeon has a name before you arrive. Rats that never left, slimes that settled, skulls of those who sat down with their gold. Gold does nothing here. Keep moving.

YouA runner. Red coat, grey helmet. The only thing down here still moving.
SlimeSettled. Slow, and in the way.
SkullSat down with its gold. Flies now.

What is in the dungeon

Wind
A momentum meter. It builds while you run straight, holds through a corner, and resets if you turn back. Taking a hit drains it. Charge, Vault and Shout spend it.
Floors and gates
Six or so floors a week. The gate seals behind you; the way is down. Chasms a quarter of the room wide: walk round, see across, or shove a monster in.
Relics
Two a week, with names like Sixth Street Ring and Shield, Pitted. Carry one out alive and it is kept in the Hall of Heroes. Die, and your relics lie where you fell.
Sealed weeks
The week you are in is always free. A week that has ended stays sealed. Seal Breaker, a subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock, reopens past weeks. It never grants turns.
Offline
One download a week, then no signal needed. The dungeon lives on your phone until Monday.
Private by construction
Health is read on your device and never sent anywhere. No account, no login, no profile. The privacy policy lists every signal the app can emit; none of them carries a number.
A wider dungeon room. The slime is gone and the message log reads You defeated the slime. A flaming skull hovers in a doorway to the east; a key and a coin lie on the floor beside a chasm.
A flying skull at the east door.
The home screen with the week tiles: earlier weeks crossed out or locked, week 36 marked lost, and week 37 highlighted as the current week.
Every week gets a tile. Lost weeks stay lost.

Three things it does not have

  • Turns for sale
  • A leaderboard
  • Streaks

Distance is the only way in. Nobody is ranked. Miss a week and the tide comes anyway; the next one is yours.

Questions

Do I have to run with my phone?

No. Run More One reads running workouts and walking-and-running distance that are already in Apple Health, whether they came from an Apple Watch or another app that writes to Health. Nothing is recorded by the game itself.

How much running is one turn?

Ten metres is one turn, so one kilometre is one hundred turns. Distance is banked to the metre, so nothing is lost to rounding.

What does a turn buy?

One action: a step, a strike, a wait, or reaching into your pack. When the turns are gone, that week's dungeon is done with you until you run again.

Is it free?

The week you are in is always free. Seal Breaker, a subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock, reopens past weeks' sealed dungeons. Nothing you can buy grants turns.

Does it need a connection?

Once a week, to download that week's dungeon. After that it plays fully offline.

What happens to my Health data?

It is read on your device and used on your device to work out your turns. It is never sent anywhere. The app requests read access to exactly two Health types, running workouts and walking-and-running distance, and never asks to write. There is no account and no login. Read the privacy policy.

Is there an Android version?

No. Run More One is an iPhone app built on Apple Health.
